Rex has played guitar since the age of seven, when he weighed only a bit more than a '58 Les Paul. He learned his craft amongst the rich musical diversity of the Texas Hill Country in his hometown of Marble Falls, then moving to his favorite second hometown of Austin, Texas.
In 1989, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee and worked as an artist, writer and musician for Sony Music, and since then has produced or played on over 3000 recordings he both played on and produced for Sony Music Publishing and other publishing companies. Over his career he has made recordings with
and a who's-who of hall-of-fame writers and performers. Rex has also played in the US, Sweden, Norway, Italy and the Netherlands with various artists as a sideman musician and singer. Through years of working his way up through the business and earning the respect of Nashville musicians and artists, Rex Paul the solo artist was being groomed. Despite having produced, recorded and played with some
of modern music's greatest artists, Rex's love of real guitar rock has
led him to create a giant in the land of guitar records, Hero Shuffle.
With guest guitar legends Eric Johnson, Phil Keaggy and Dann Huff, his
lifelong dream has come true. |
